At Elan, we understand the benefits of generational grouping in treatment. Generational cohorts share historical and social life experiences, and these shared experiences help make group members feel more comfortable, readily able to identify with and relate to each other, leading to stronger group cohesion and more effective treatment outcomes.
This track is for emerging adults who are ready to seek treatment for their substance abuse but also for those who have struggled to maintain their recovery after treatment. It is also for those individuals who have struggled to connect with others during treatment in the past.
We understand that young adults face many life changes and challenges such as graduating high school and college, accepting new employment, moving cities, beginning new relationships, and more. Oftentimes these events are happening in succession or all at once, creating stress and anxiety for some individuals that can lead to substance abuse. Many young adults may even turn to drugs and alcohol because of peer pressure.
Young adults with serious mental health or co-occurring mental and substance use disorders face an even more difficult transition to adulthood than their peers. They are also more likely to experience: homelessness, unemployment, and legal issues.
This program has relevant, targeted interventions aimed specifically at engaging young adults or those who have been previously resistant to treatment. It also provides medication-assisted therapies utilized to manage cravings and post acute withdrawal symptoms.
Gallant offers participants:
