Endeavor for Young Adults

Endeavor for Young Adults is built around emerging adults who are ready to seek treatment for their substance abuse.

It might be your first attempt to break free from addiction

If that’s the case, we’re so glad you’re considering Elan Recovery + Wellness. Despite what the world keeps telling you, we do not believe that relapse is inevitable. We want to help you get straight and stay straight, the first time. We know, know, KNOW you can do it.

You may have struggled to maintain your recovery after treatment elsewhere

This is our message to you: Don’t give up. Don’t stop hoping. You CAN achieve long-term sobriety. If you do your job and we do our job, Elan’s program works.

Endeavor for Young Adults is also for those individuals who have had trouble connecting with others during treatment in the past

You need to find a program that’s the right fit for you, surrounded by a supportive clinical community and people who are committed to recovery. Elan Recovery + Wellness has built just such a community.

This stage of your life is full of changes and challenges, and they’re usually coming at you all at once:

  • Finishing or leaving school
  • Figuring out a career path, or sometimes simply finding and keeping a job
  • Moving cities
  • Starting (and ending) relationships
  • Living on your own
  • Managing money

You’ve tried to keep up. You’ve tried to figure out your life, but sometimes it seems you’re the only person who can’t quite keep it together. Maybe your life hasn’t gone as you’d planned or hoped, and that disappointment is too much to handle. Maybe you’re stressed or anxious, and drugging or drinking helped you forget for a little while. And that worked, until it didn’t.

Maybe you hang out with friends who use. So you started using, too, because it was just easier than fighting about it.

Maybe you’ve been abused, or neglected, or traumatized in some way as a young child or as a teenager. Drugs were an escape from that pain. When you come to treatment at Elan, you’ll learn that you’re smarter and stronger than you ever imagined. We’ll show you how to cope with pain, shame, and guilt so you don’t feel like you need to escape anymore. That’s called getting your life back.

Family Therapy in Elan’s Young Adult Program

At Elan Wellness + Recovery, we are pioneering work with families of addicts.

Once a month, family members gather for our Family Weekends, where they are offered a true process-based counseling program. The goal is to address and end the kinds of family dysfunction that enable and support addictive behaviors. Instead of just receiving education about what addiction is like for their loved one, family members receive intensive treatment to help heal and restore relationships.

Extra Assistance for Younger Guests

Our trained clinicians understand the needs of young adult participants in our program, and the length of stay is determined by a patient’s specific treatment requirements. In addition to treatment services, Elan’s case management advisor can offer guidance on:

  • Legal obligations
  • Securing safe, transitional sober housing
  • Continued care
  • Referrals for vocational rehab
  • Aftercare planning
  • Life skills training including:
  • Self-care/activities of daily living
  • Communication skills
  • Employability skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Decision making skills
  • Employment or educational support services to assist clients in becoming financially independent
  • Nutrition education, budgeting and meal planning
